Results: Finished Basic Training in 3 months, rebuilt the foundations
Bobby loves music and the electric guitar. You could say he is a bit obsessed with playing guitar.
Even though he is a hobbyist, he has his guitar in hand almost every day and loves to go to concerts. Even though people kept telling him how great he sounds he knew deep down: something was missing.
The Process
Suddenly he got confronted with foundations he never even knew they mattered:
- Being able to accurately switch between note values when improvising
- Starting to feel them
- Refine his right-hand technique in terms of touch and accuracy
- Triad deep study, leaving CAGED in the dust
- Embellishing Triads with the Hendrix Chordal style
- Nailing Hendrix' phrasing and core lick vocabulary for rock/blues
The Result:
In 3 months, Bobby has already refined aspects of his playing that he wasn't able to grasp in over 25 years.

For Shawn, guitar was always his big passion but he never had a lot of time playing it. For years, all he knew was the same 3-4 chords. He was watching Youtube lessons and online tutorials but that didn’t really give him any results.
Enter Total Guitar Transformation.
The Process
In just 6 months, Shawn using professional training methods and practicing around 60-90min a day (not in one piece) was able to
– learn to play lead guitar from scratch
– refine his technique to a point where he produces a clear sound
– develop solid time (that’s a huge one, you heard his beginnings!)
– learn how to bend and phrase
– learn triads all over the neck (remarkable for a beginner)
– to get to the “Hendrix Level”, where he can pick up a Hendrix song and solo and learn it with any major difficulties
– develop a musical ear
– become a better listener
– become more disciplined
– become a better dad and husband
The Results
Fast forward 2 years and Shawn has started his first group teaching beginners. With his background he knows all the possible struggles. He is working on setting up a non-profit helping veterans through music.
Results: Developed from a chord strummer to playing lead fills and improvising blues solos
Afer Sally had been singing songs and playing piano for more than 50 years, she decided to go afer her "secret dream" - being able to play lead guitar! That might be normal for an average girl... Sally isn't average by any means - she started rockin' at age 82!
The Process
Afer she joined TGT, it took her about 5 months to play lead lines and fills all over the fretboard, sing and play her favorite songs while filling in lead guitar licks ad lib. If there is a great example of how powerful this program is, then it's Sally!
The Result
Now at age 85, Sally continues to make progress on all levels. Her Ear training has really improved in the last year. She is an amazing inspiration for everyone in our "Inner Circle"!
Results: Has leveled up his role as a worship musician by adding pro lead skills to his arsenal, while understanding harmony and moods
When Duane did his first TGT evaluation he was already a good improviser. Only problem - he would stumble upon something great without knowing what he was doing and with no way to be able to replicate those cool moments. He had already realized that something needed to happen.
The Process
Finishing the TGT Basic training was not as easy as expected - but Duane didn't give up until he collected one "task complete" after the next. Here were the areas that were the hardest:
- rhythmical subdivisions, pyramid
- funky accents, accent shifting, displacement
The Result
By becoming aware of the importance of rhythm, Duane immediately made a quantum leap forward. The advantage of structured, goal-oriented practice further started showing its benefits in the long run. Duane is currently starting year three at TGT!
Results: finished Basic Training, then successfully graduated from TGT main program
The Process
Our TGT structure immediately put Karsten on a guard-rail trainride towards progress. He kept showing up on the zoom trainings, submitted his homework, asked many questions and did everything you would expect from a success student.
The Result:
He now plays better than ever before, discovered his singing voice and is able to express a new side of him. Another realisation was that there are no limits to where he is able to grow. He now joined our "TGT Advanced" program where he is studying bebop for modern improvisation and progressive blues!
Results: finished Basic Training, then went on to develop his pro guitar voice influenced by SRV and Jeff Beck
Ernie has many sides: successful in the construction business, he needed something to let some steam off. As a skilled car racer, he is used to a high level of excellence where making mistakes is not an option. He also builds high-end guitar and has a great collection of gear. But the playing? Never seemed to satisfy him.
What attracted him to TGT from the get go was the hands-on learning approach. He wanted to learn from someone that had been at the pro-level and performed on many stages.
Nothing in the Basic training was realy difficult for Ernie but it finally gave him long-needed structure and focus that eventually helped to refine his skills. The highlight of this process was a performance we did together. To be able to hang with the pros - that was exactly his goal before joining TGT!

Results: finished his Basic training in 2 months, then graduated from the full program within 12 months. Now in "TGT Advanced"
Gilberto is what I would call a seasoned guitar player. Not making a living playing the guitar, he plays in a band and calls it more than “just” a hobby – it’s a passion.
It was through our TGT “Creative Guitar” Workshop with Andy Timmons that we met. He admired Andy’s fluid, melodic style that was both earthy and rootsy, while showing a lot of sophistication as well.
In our first talk that followed, I told him that some of the foundations of those skills are a) deeply rooted in the blues b) Hendrix-inspired c) the harmonic richness of jazz and bebop playing.
The Result
Since then (January 2023), we have been working together. 4 months later already, his bandmates noticed a strong difference in his soloing, his technique improving and becoming more efficient, and having more creative options in the heat of the moment.
TGT Academy gives him the tools as a more advanced player that he needs to grow further!
A couple of kind words Gilberto had to say about joining TGT Academy:
"There is everything you can imagine online, but no structure. Drinking water out of the firehose.... TGT has given me the tools to remove the training wheels"
