At TGT, you have a full team behind you.
Born in Graz, Austria, Ulrich started playing piano at a young age. At age 14, the guitar passion obsessively took over his life, and 6 months later, he was fronting his own band. Being both self-taught on guitar and eventually completing 2 Master's Degrees in Music gives him a unique perspective of how music works in theory, in reality and when on a stage.
He founded Total Guitar Transformation in the winter of 2020 and has since then helped 1000s of guitarists to become more expressive musicians.

COMMANDMENT #1: Music is like a language. You learn by imitating first, not reciting the alphabet. Studying the Masters of Rock and Blues Guitar is the fastest way to learn the authentic music language and find your own expression.
COMMANDMENT #2: If there was only time to study one guitarist in depth - study Jimi Hendrix. His phrasing, vocabulary and tone set the groundwork for rock guitar. He was also a blues master. Jimi is right at the pivoting poin of old-school blues and modern rock. 1000s of guitarists have directly or indirectly been influenced by him.
COMMANDMENT #3: Music doesn't happen in a vacuum. You have to imitate before you innovate. Imitate fearlessly and at some point, you will start innovating automatically!
COMMANDMENT #4: The principle of "Incomplete Action": instead of failing to perfectly execute a piece or snippet over and over again, take more action knowing that you are not fully there yet. Your brain and muscles need time - just take action in the right direction!
COMMANDMENT #5: Scales and music theory are useless unless you can apply them to a practical playing situation. That's why we value skill over knowledge.
COMMANDMENT #6: The magic is not what you play but how you play it. That's why phrasing, rhythm, and touch are even more important than just thinking about note choices.
COMMANDMENT #7: Building indestructible foundations is not just for beginners. It will enable the improviser to have reliable reflexes when on stage improvising. Value and nurture your foundations!
COMMANDMENT #8: You never stop learning! You are never too old!
COMMANDMENT #9: Limitations are the key to growth. Limit yourself, focus on certain aspects, and your practice will go from "noodling" to intentional.
COMMANDMENT #10: This isn't a sprint - it's a marathon. Enjoy the process and give yourself credit for your achievements on the way.
